Toyama Castle Park
Toyama Prefecture Toyama Area

For 13 generations, Toyama Castle served as the flourishing headquarters of the Maeda clan. Now the grounds of the fortress are a huge public park with open lawns, a children’s playground, an art museum, and other facilities. At the museum inside the donjon, you find out about local history and culture. From the Matsukawa River, which flows along one side of the park, the view of cherry blossoms is a banner image of Toyama Prefecture. Pleasure boats can take you through a tunnel of cherry blossoms.
