Sagawa Art Museum

Shiga Prefecture Konan Area

The collections of this museum can be divided in two general categories: one is the works of Hirayama Ikuo, a Japanese painter who continues to paint Silk Road scenes, and the other is the works of Sato Churyou, a sculptor who continues to express the simple beauty of human forms and work beyond the boundaries of East and West. In fact, he was the first Japanese artist to have held a private exhibition at the National Rodin Museum in Paris. Under the grand theme of "Exchange of Easten and Western Culture," we hold independent planned exhibitions a couple of times a year in the special exhibition room. The museum introduces various art works and artifacts including painting, crafts, and historical, and anthropological items.
