Hanagatami Park

Fukui Prefecture Tannan Area

This park is located at the foot of Sanriyama Mountain, which has a famous connection to the Emperor Keitai. There is a Usuzumi cherry tree which is said to have been planted by Emperor Keitai himself. Koshiga Pond is said to have been used as the first bath for Emperor Keitai's Imperial prince. The park is also known for its 1,000 cherry trees in the spring and its colored leaves in autumn. In the autumn, the Momiji Festival (Japanese maple festival) is held. Visitors can also enjoy walking on a walking path in the park.
