Echizen-no-Sato Ajimanoen Garden

This place is mentioned in the Soumon poems (love poems). The site is 20,000 tsubos big, and it includes a Japanese garden and mizubashou (skunk cabbage) garden. The look of these gardens varies depending on the season. There is a monument for poems from the Ajimano area in Manyoshu. Also, the former residence of the Taniguchi family was here, which is designated as a nationally important cultural property and was built at the beginning of 19th century.
