Kouzen-ji Temple

Nagano Prefecture Nanshin Area

This famous temple, which was founded in 860, enshrines Fudou Myouou as the object of worship. The whole precinct is designated as a national scenic spot, which includes benten-hall and three fold tower. This temple has a legend about a dog with spiritual powers named Hayatarou which exterminated a monster. A hot spring named after Hayatarou also exists in the precinct.
