Ryotan-ji Temple

Ryotan-ji temple is famous as a family temple for Ikawa Family, the ancestor of Ii Naosuke who held the position of Tairo (the great elder) at the end of Edo era. The beautiful garden designed by Kobori Enshu is designated as a national scenic spot, and the hallway made in the uguisubari style (the hallway was specially sprung to emit creaking noises when trodden on) transmit to this day the cultures of old.
