Ryosen-ji Temple

Shizuoka Prefecture Izu Area

This temple was the place where Shimoda Treaty, an appendix to the Convention of Kanagawa was concluded. There is a treasure house in the precinct where the history of manners and customs of Shimoda is introduced (fees apply). At the time of Kurofune (Black Ship) Festival, the scene of the singing ceremony is reproduced here.
