Daitoin Temple

Daitoin temple is an old temple of Soto sect and was founded by a Zen priest named Tekison Jochu, the 8th high priest of Eihei-ji temple, in 1411. As the head temple of Five regent houses, it has about 3,400 branches all over Japan. The temple buildings stand in the quiet stillness surrounded by deep forest. There is a cemetery of Mori no Ishimatsu in front of the gate which is a popular visiting spot for gamblers.
