Ocha-no-Gou
Shizuoka Prefecture Suruga Area
Ocha-no-Gou was built in a corner of the Great Tea Garden in Makinohara as a stronghold of tea culture and tea industry promotion as well as a tourist facility. There is a museum where visitors can try rare types of tea from different parts of the world, and there is a tearoom and a tea garden relating to Enshu Kobori, who was the great master of tea ceremony. In this facility, visitors can not only enjoy tasting tea but also learn the culture and the history of tea by actually experiencing them, by learning about the cultivation of Makinohara which has become the center of tea in Japan, for example.
