Sunpu Takumishuku

Shizuoka Prefecture Shizuoka Area

Sunpu Takumishuku is a place where people from any generation can experience the culture particular to Shizuoka area through "creating, playing, learning, touching, observing, and tasting." The experiential programs are made in the theme of traditional industry and history of Shizuoka city which has survived from the time of Imagawa and Tokugawa period. There are three workshop buildings providing lacquer ware making and Japanese dyeing, wooden and bamboo crafts making, and pottery making courses. There is also a laser blast workshop.

From JR Shizuoka station, take a Chubu Kokudou Line Bus for about 30 minutes. Get off at "Togeppou-Iriguchi" and walk for about 5 minutes. 200m eastward from Maruko IC exit on Seiryu bypass
