Maruyama-Senmaida (One Thousand Rice Paddies in Maruyama)

In Maruyama district, there are many small rice paddies called Senmaida, meaning one thousand paddies. Very small paddies that can even be hidden under an umbrella are forming layers of rice terraces. It is said that there are about 1,300 rice paddies here in total.
