Daiouzaki Lighthouse

Daiouzaki Lighthouse is located on the south-west portion of Iseshima National Park and it is famous as the shining white lighthouse in the town of Ishizaka. The lighthouse stands on the Daiouzaki, which is a famous scenic spot for marine terraces. It was built in 1927, marks the border between the Sea of Kumano and the Sea of Enshu, and was the cutting edge facility at the time. Visitors can climb to the top of the lighthouse and enjoy the view from there, except for windy days. From the top, the view of Ise Peninsula, the Pacific Ocean, islands in the far distance. Since one can see the top of a mast coming up from afar, this lighthouse is also known as a cape where one can see the fact that the earth is round.
