Iseshima Skyline and Kongoushou-ji Temple

Mie Prefecture Iseshima Area

The large park ground of 150,000 square meters is filled with seasonal flowers and plants such as jingu-azaleas and asakuma-seven spring herbs. From the observatory, a grand panoramic view of Ise Bay and as far as the Japan Alps and Mt.Fuji can be seen. Also, there are various shops at the summit where visitors can enjoy shopping while looking at the beautiful scenery of Ise Bay. There is also a famous temple "Kongoushou-ji temple" at the summit. The temple belongs to Nanzanji school. This temple was built to protect the demon's gate (the quarter lying to the northeast of one's position, superstitiously believed to be an unlucky direction) of Ise Jingu Shrine so it is also called the inner temple of Ise Jingu. The main hall of the temple is designated as an important cultural property where one of the three great kokuzo-bosatsu (akasa-barbha bodhisattva) is enshrined. [Events] The first sunrise in January, Mt. Akakuma Azalea Festival in mid May, Hydrangea Festival from mid June to mid July, Mt. Asakuma Nature Class on the 1st Sunday of August, Chunichi Jogging Fast-Walking on the last Sunday in November. Location: It has a beautiful night view (a good place not many people know about).
