In "Makura no soushi (The Pillow Book)" written by Seisho Nagon, there is a poem which says "The best hot spring is Nanakuri Hot Springs, Arima Hot Springs, and Tamatsukuri Hot Springs." "Nanakuri Hot Springs here indicate our Sakakibara Hot Springs. In the capital of Kyoto, Sakakibara Hot Springs was a synonym to Hot Springs. It is an alkaline simple spring and is good for skin disorders, neuralgia, rheumatism, and is particularly good for women. The hot spring water is very smooth, making your skin very silky. Because of this effect, the hot spring is also called as the "Hot Spring for Beautiful Women."
